Good night, thank you for reading. Let’s hope for a better tomorrow.

Riot Update

Ah, pakai Bahasa Indonesia ajalah :D

For you Christians out there, and also for everyone who cares.. please pray for us and this city.

Makassar … riot?

Right about now.. The rumors said, there’s a housekeeper (pembantu) (or two?) murdered last night by their employer who is happen to be a Chinese man. This causes a big horror among the Chinese people in Makassar, and surely bring horror to almost everyone in the city, including non-chinese. A friend just called me (non-chinese office friend) and informed that one of our friend at work was stopped in the street because he was suspected a chinese. Don’t know what would happen if He _IS_ a chinese man. Thank God he’s not.

This bring back the fear that has twice put Makassar in a terrible condition. The last one was in 1997, after a child murder by a crazy chinese man. Back in 97, a lot of houses and Buddhist/KongHuCu temples burnt down and many chinese people murdered and raped. My house also got a piece of it, a big stone that went through my house’s glass window…

I don’t care for the politics or racism views (as my “Human Virus” told me, I should stop caring), but I’m imagining the bad economy condition that will once again struck Makassar down if there’s a riot this time. This is just stupid.

To those who’s too stupid to figure things out, and are involved in such stupid activities.. What difference are you than the NAZI‘s?

still learning english and typing it fast… :P

Something funny, but a bit “basbang”:http://wiki.id-gmail.info/Basbang i think, from “Human Virus Scanner”:http://totl.net/VirusScanner/:

Human Virus Scanner

The virus that have infected you will be show here along with thier cures, if known.

Viruses you suffer from:

Linux
Install the latest version of Microsoft Windows. Learn to love it.

Religion
Read “God’s Debris” by Scott Adams (yes, the Dilbert guy)

Windows
Try MacOS X. It’s based on UNIX, it has a smoother UI than Windows and it doesn’t suck. As an extra feature the boxes look nice.

Politics
Stop caring!

Brand Names
Having a well-known name doesn’t make it good.

Environmentalism
Consume more stuff! It’s easier to buy new stuff than to recycle.

Macintosh
Use a mouse with more than one button.

Viruses you might suffer from:

Free BSD (95%)
The GPL isn’t that bad really. Adopt a penguin at the zoo.

Junkfood (85%)
Eat some real food. Something which you can identify the source of every ingredient, not the point of manufacture.

UNIX (65%)
Anything this old must be obselete. Go and install a nice modern operating system. I hear MSDOS has come a long way lately.

X11 (60%)
I hear Mac OS 10 Aqua is nice at this time of year.

Japan (60%)
Big is good. Small is bad. Giant robots would not make a good last line of defence for Earth.

Hello, New Year!

After more than 2 months of silence, I’m writing again.

I’ve just spent the night in the office, working!@#$!@#. I pratically have been working for almost 30 hours since yesterday morning, 9 AM, with probably just one hour sleep (and not a continuous one hour! >:( ). We were (and still now) rushing to meet the deadline to print student report cards today. We (the schools to be precise) didn’t perfectly made the deadline. One school just print report cards for 1 class only, another made it manually. They both probably will print the actual report cards tomorrow or on Monday. It has been a very exhausting week for all of us here at MCEC(Makassar Cyber Education Center).

Anyway, I’ve been to various places and events in these past two months. I’ve been to Bali, and visited Bedugul and Kuta for about 10 days. I’ve been to Toraja during the Idul Fitri holidays. Many Christmas celebrations, and other events. The “S2IS”:http://john.chendra.net/index.php/2005/10/26/another-waiting-is-over/ perfectly suits every event :) . I’m thinking and looking for a way to share the pictures (which some I’ve already used as wallpapers), probably using “Gallery 2 (Gallery 2)”:http://gallery.menalto.com/ or “Flickr (Flickr)”:http://www.flickr.com/.
For the past 2 weeks, I also have join the “Fedora Ambassadors”:http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ambassadors/. I’m hoping to contribute to linux, maybe not in programming or other geeky stuff, but at least I know I am helping to spread the Freedom :)

I’ve been browsing through the “WordPress Theme Viewer (WP Theme Viewer)”:http://themes.wordpress.net/ again, and found many beautiful themes. And yes, I am also planning on upgrading this blog to WP 2.
Maybe those are my blog’s New Year Resolution. As for myself, I’m really looking forward to do what I have learnt during the Haggai Institute seminars in “Malino”:http://john.chendra.net/index.php/2005/10/26/haggai-institute/ or Bedugul.

Anyway, To close the post, and the year, I just want to say, Have yourself a Happy New Year! … Christmas you ask? We should have it everyday… in our hearts! :)
